Giclées
Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is a newly coined word for the process of making Fine Art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The work “giclée” is derived fro the French language word “Le gicler” meaning “nozzle”, or more specifically “gicler” meaning “to squirt, spurt, or spray”.
The intent of that name is to distinguish commonly known industrial “iris proofs” from the type of Fine Art prints artists were producing on those same types of printers. The name was originally applied to Fine Art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the early 1990’s but has since come to mean any high quality ink-jet print and is often used in galleries and print shops to denote such prints.

All giclées are offered on Canvas or Paper (unless otherwise noted). Giclées on canvas have painted sides (black) and are varnished.
ARTIST PROOFS
A print outside of the numbered series, usually one tenth the edition. Hand signed and approved by the artist for quality and color correctness. Artist Proofs are often sought after by Collectors.
LIMITED EDITIONS
The most prevalent of all prints. Jd’s Limited Edition giclées are offered in various sizes. Each limited edition giclée is signed and numbered. Jd’s giclées are most often produced in a series of 50 or 95 in the Edition.
MINI GICLEES
As the name implies, small enough to fit almost anywhere. Affordable enough to own multiples, and an excellent way to collect Challenger Art. These MINI GICLEES are available in 12″ x 12″ format, printed on Canvas.
PRINTER PROOFS (PPs)
These proofs are basically the same as an artist’s proof except that there are even fewer of them produced. They provide an even more exclusive opportunity for a collector to own something very unique, as they are given to the printer or publisher by the artist. Available on Paper only.
SPECIAL EDITIONS
The Special Edition is limited in quantity to 10 or less per Series, remarked and signed by the artist.
